The Association of African Universities (AAU) is around 309 members. Africa has thus at least three hundreds high education institutions. It needs some space of publications and exchange between its scientists on one hand, and between them and those of the rest of the world.

The journal Afrika Statistika and African Journal of Applied Statistics, aim to connect Africa to the rest of the world, by the dynamism of scientists from the continent and by the mixing with the orther scientists of the world.
